April 3^rd Members’  Stitching Day plus Belton or own work and Stitch work in afternoon.

May 1^st Jess Grady-‘Embracing the Unconventional’ my textile journey. Jess was selected as emerging artist for the North Yorkshire Open Studios 2017. She was also highlighted in the Stitch Magazine.

June 5^th Heather Wright –mini workshop making Silk Corsages designed to use scraps of antique, vintage and precious fabrics.

July 3^rd Pam Keeling a slide talk presentation, The Guilds’ Collection.

August 7^th Members’ stitching day

September 4^th AGM and Mary Sleigh joins us to present her illustrated talk: ‘An Embroiderer’s Journey’.

October 2^nd Marian Jackson demonstrates her use of Sweetie Papers as used in her winning competition picture.

November 6^th Helen Phillips returns to present another fascinating talk: ‘Yak Butter Tea and a Parcel of Shocks’.

December 4^th Mini Christmas workshop.

Bus trip to Grimsby is likely to be in early July; date to be confirmed.

WORKSHOPS

April 10^th Jan Dowson Vintage Memories in Cloth. The aim of the workshop is to begin a journey… a personal journey, pulling together a range of materials and ephemera that are going to be assembled and stitched to produce a wonderful cloth. A cloth that will feel rich to hold & touch, and fill you with warm memories…….The workshop will enable you to begin the process and understand the technique of ‘slow stitch’ 

June 12^th Viv Arthur is visiting us again from Art Van Go. During the day we will have an introduction to basic material used in surface embellishment, concentrating on the most versatile mediums that can be adapted for many surfaces including fabric.

September 18^th Angie Hughes is going to teach us about Exploring Velvet, her interesting effects are achieved with dyes, inks and bleaching together with luminaire paint and transfer foils. Angie will also talk about free machine embroidery techniques and embellishment on velvet.  

October 16th 2018  EVE MARSHALL EXOTIC ANIMALS WORKSHOP  
Eve will show us how to felt her ‘exotic’ animals including a Reindeer,hare,lion,or sheep.
