I've just noticed in the list of stalls/contributers for this day that a Neil Halford is mentioned in conjunction with Brenda Scarman and goldwork.
Research shows that there is a Neil Halford associated with Benton and Johnson, suppliers of gold thread, etc., and on their website, a woman called Ruth Chamberlain is mentioned, who is the consultant in goldwork and embroidery to the Diocese of Peterborough. Does anyone know her or of her?
She could be an interesting speaker for a future workshop day, and she has written a beginner's book in goldwork, and is not too far away!

Summer Workshops

Every year our region holds a creative residential Summer School, which is open to students with all levels of ability from the complete novice to the very experienced stitcher.  It is being held again in 2015 at Scalford Hall in Leicestershire, as this is the most central point for our region. 

Costs are reasonable at £290 for the weekend Full Board (£200 Non Residential) with superb facilities, en-suite rooms, bar and excellent food.  We have 3 exciting tutors again this year in Wendy Cotterill, Hilary Hollingworth & Shelley Rhodes

In response to comments received through the E.G. survey, the East Midlands Region E.G. are very happy to offer a one day workshop on Saturday 13th June 2015. We hope that members will support this new initiative.

Just a reminder that it is our March meeting on Tuesday. It is beginning to feel like Spring I think and the extra light is especially helpful for stitching. We are making coiled pots and details and requirements are on the blog but I have attached here for you too.

If you have booked for the Goldwork workshop with Brenda Scarman on the 21st Aprilpayment (by cheque please) is due at Tuesday's meeting. Payments for kits will be direct to Brenda on the day.  She is happy to be contacted by email should you have any querybrendascarman@hotmail.com.

I have had a message from someone who is is moving house and has three embroidery frames to give away.  They are in very good condition but have not been used for some time.  One stands on the floor, another on a table, and the third is a frame without a stand. She is willing to deliver them to the meeting so if anyone is interested please let me know.
