EGM, Special Resolution & Proxy Vote
Dear Chairmen, Secretaries, Treasurers and IT Reps,
As you are no doubt aware, there is to be an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Embroiderers' Guild in Birmingham on 20th June, to consider and vote on a Special Resolution concerning the draft articles of association being adopted as the Articles of Association of the Guild. (Fuller details are outlined on the Notice of General Meeting Document)
All members should have received a Notice of General Meeting document, but there as been a Postal Strike in many areas of the Country and some members have not received their copy. There is also a backlog of this post with no definite date of it being cleared. If you are aware that members have not received their copy, could you ask them to contact Janet Jardine at HQ and another copy will be sent to them.
Within this Notice is the first and unique opportunity for members to vote on this Special Resolution either by attending the meeting or by a Proxy Vote by using the form on the back of the Notice. Photocopies will not be accepted. A Branch may collect and send copies together.
The attached document; EGM Briefing - summarises the main points of the 8 page notice of the Special Resolution sent to members just before Easter in order to help inform members of the New Articles of Association. You will see from the final page that all the Regional Chairmen at the last Council Meeting on 22nd April, have signed this document as their endorsement of acceptance.
Can I please urge you to encourage your members to use their vote. It is most important that this Special Resolution be accepted by the majority in order for the Guild to move forward with its plans.
Any Queries they may have regarding any aspect of this Special Resolution can be sent to: ceo@embroiderersguild.com
