Layers of Stitch Meeting February 6th 2018

Eve Marshall who is a local Artisan Felter is joining us. Eve has been a full time felter for 7 years and spends time teaching both wet and needle felting techniques, plus she sells her artwork in shops and galleries all over the UK.

As well as talking to us about her varied work, she is going to teach a mini workshop for us. We will be making Wet Felted Flowers and she will bring everything we require. This will be done on a tray [which she will bring]. It is not messy but you may wish to bring the following:

 Rubber gloves, we will be using Fairy Liquid and Merino Wool and Silk, if anyone is allergic to any of these please make sure you have gloves.
 An apron.
 A small towel [Eve will be bringing some too].
 Your sewing kit and a few threads of your choice plus some beads if you have them. Please do not buy beads as Eve is bringing some as well as the wire we require.

The flowers will be mostly dry by the time we are finished.
Eve will be with us during the morning, as usual the room is booked for you in the afternoon when we can embellish the flowers and /or bring some of your own work.

I hope you enjoy the workshop but if felting is not for you, and you prefer to bring your own work instead, please do so.

Our meeting will also give us the opportunity to discuss and update on our exciting Belton Project. Do bring any work you have been doing towards it, I’m sure everyone would like to see how things are progressing.

I hope to see you on the 6th February.

With good wishes,

Margaret.
